“RELAY OF HOPE 2004” – RUNNING FOR BC REHAB

Lake Louise to StanleyPark

For months, Sukhi (22), Justyna (21) and Adrian (21), have been daily setting aside 2 hours from their studies to train for this years upcoming Relay of Hope.

The relay trio will be running and cycling over 960 km, starting in Lake Louise on August 17 and ending in Stanley Park, Vancouver on August 25. For 9 days, they will be canvassing support and raising awareness throughout British Columbia

“I’ve learned an incredible amount these past few months in preparing for the relay,” says Sukhi. “And the biggest thing I now know is that if you want to make a difference, you have to start with the person in front of you.”

Inspired by “Mother Teresa’s philosophy on living an effective life”, Sukhi, Justyna and Adrian are determined to make a difference in the communities of British Columbia and the lives of people with physical disabilities through BC Rehab.

“BC Rehab funds amazing programs for people with disabilities throughout the province,” continues Sukhi. “We just want more people to know what they’re all about and how important they are to this province.”

BC Rehab was created in 1994 with a mission to support people with physical disabilities through education, research, arts, recreation, and wellness programs. Through fundraising, advocacy and innovation, BC Rehab supports people with physical disabilities in their determined efforts to strive towards their own form of independence.
